In Islam there are 99 names for God (Allah in Islam). Project 99 is my journey to represent the 99 names individually through
my artwork. The concept for this series came from further investigation of these names. I found that not only are these
attributes of our Creator but they are also qualities He has instilled in us, His creation. This intrigued me because these words
and what they exemplify reaches far beyond the Muslim community. As an artist I am able to represent Islam from an
artist’s lens as opposed to the images and stories we see in the media. My hope is that works will resonate withthese
people of all faiths and backgrounds and be a vehicle for conversation and connection through the meaning of each work.
